Oral Thrush is a creamy white lesion that can occur on the
tongue, cheek, palate or tonsils.

Most commonly affects immunocompromised persons
such as the elderly.

Tips to managing oral thrush:

  • Maintain good oral hygiene for natural teeth and
  • Notify the RN who can administer an antifungal
medication (eg. Nilstat) to clear the infection
  • Dentures should be disinfected in an antimicrobial solution
    (eg. Chlorhexidine)
